Late Laskiainen Party (at Lake Crabtree Park) - NEW DATE! Sunday March 22 @ 1pm:  TFA members gather to honor Laskiainen - Shrove Sunday (Finland's version of Mardi Gras). The event is a potluck where members bring hernekeitto (pea soup), laskiaspulla, bread & cheese, desserts and more to celebrate the occasion.

Vappu Party (hosted in Durham) - May 2: A classic May Day celebration featuring traditional Vappu food and activities. TFA provides grilled items & drinks, potluck sign-up for sides and desserts. REGISTER HERE!

Pirrakka Party - Mid-October (TBD): Featuring savory and sweet piirakka made by our members, plus other sides and desserts. (Date is TBD)

Itsenäisyyspäivä Party - Dec 6: Our annual observance of Itsenäisyyspäivä (Finnish Independence Day). TFA provides the entrees, side dishes, drinks, glögi and champagne, with potluck-style desserts from attendees. We celebrate with some history on Finland and Independence, a champagne toast, and a visit from Joulupukki!
